black or white ?

i am thinking of painting the island black.

 check out this upscale kitchen (below). the cabinets are a pale green antiqued and the island looks like it is stained black. i don’t want to paint all my cabinets green (yet), but I love the contrast.

here is the same kitchen but a different view. gorgeous!

and here is a similar kitchen, with the cabinets all the same color. very pretty, but I am an eclectic girl ~ so i am drawn more to contrast.
